We will be using the stage view for the stage, so probably not going to be an option. This would help automate the task we currently have been doing by hand in large print for some older members of our congregation who can't read the screens. rtf) of a service (Including all the words to songs, readings and maybe PowerPoint slides).

If I get time it will be great to develop a plugin (if not already done and I have missed it?) to create a booklet pdf (or other format e.g.

The other big plus (for me) is the opensource nature of OpenLP. My python is a little rusty so may take me a while to put it in myself however I think it should be easy to do and work on all platforms. svg files and you notice a typo before the service, the operator could easily edit that slide by right-clicking on it and Inkscape popping up.

I know it is possible to still do this by creating a theme to use with a custom slide (or create an image) but it's just not as smooth -)Ī new feature that I think would get round this problem is to have a menu item called "Edit" when you right click on a file (.png. We currently use this for some graphical slides to announce things like coffee in the evening service. The only downside I can see at the moment is that the custom slides are not as flexible/easy to edit as the EasyWorship equivalent (that is almost like PowerPoint). The $500 price tag for version 7 got me thinking of alternatives especially given a number of niggles we have with the software.įrom my quick test I am impressed with OpenLP, especially the way the bible verses are split over slides and the SongSelect integration is much better than EasyWorship. We have been using EasyWorship 6 for just over a year and are keen to be able to control our slides from mobile devices. We are looking at making the change across to OpenLP from Easyworship. Once I'd put in a bit of time to get the top 50 songs into OpenLP the rest was pretty smooth.

That pretty much tells you all you need to know, since these are submitted by satisfied (or otherwise) customers. You might find that OpenLP can import songs from EasyWorship very smoothly and without any manual intervention. Make sure you check their reliability ratings. The one saving grace is that such individuals/organisations posing as individuals usually don't don't hang around very long. This is the current, 3rd-generation model.ĭo be aware that some sellers on Ebay/Amazon are opportunists, pure & simple if they can get somebody to part with shekels far above the market value for any given item, they will have no compunctions about grabbing the dosh. I'm not at all certain of the exchange rate, but I can't imagine you'd be looking at more than $120-$150, tops, for three of 'em. TBH, I don't know where you got that figure for the Chromecast of, what was it.$270? Here in the UK, the Chromecast retails for around the GBP £30 mark, and has done for long enough. This thread is about getting the audio/video to all three TV/Monitors with minimal latency. So, it looks like a major overhaul/replacement will be needed to get the two screens up front for the congregation and the single HD screen at the rear of the sanctuary for the pastor and choir. The computer thinks it is sending output to the remote HD TV, which it is, but that signal doesn't work well on the projector. Was never an issue on the old laptop, but getting the projector set as extended monitor is quite onerous.

I'm not sure what that hardware is or how it works as the remote TV is HD and the projector is SVGA, but it works. This plugs into the video/audio splitter for the remote TV and the projection system. This runs through a converter/splitter which separates the HDMI into SVGA and audio out. Now replaced by a Dell laptop with only HDMI video/audio out. Back in 2010 when I began working with this, the laptop was an HP DV4000 laptop.
